Engaging with young people is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I love creating spaces where pupils feel seen, heard and encouraged. Whether we’re exploring big topics, building confidence, or diving into storytelling. My sessions are designed to be uplifting, inclusive and full of energy.

As an author, I love spending time with young readers and sharing the stories behind my books. My author visits include lively readings, interactive discussions and creative activities that help children feel excited about storytelling. I aim to spark imagination, encourage curiosity and show pupils that every voice has value and every story matters.

In the Friendship Matters workshop, students learn that strong friendships are built intentionally through generosity, affection, vulnerability and shared experiences; they deepen over time with trust and effort, can survive conflict through honesty and forgiveness and grow richer when we value and respect differences. I share my personal experiences of friendships and how they have formed so much of who I am today.

This session is a high-energy, interactive assembly designed to help children understand what it means to stand up against racism. Through a quick and engaging game, students learn to recognise unfair behaviour and respond by “showing racism the red card.” The session promotes inclusion, respect and unity, empowering every child to take action against discrimination in their everyday lives. I share my personal stories of how racism has affected my life, how it made me feel and how I responded.

The presentation teaches students how to recognise their inner critic, reframe negative self-talk and build confidence through practical exercises. It also covers non-verbal communication skills and techniques to help people feel more in control and own their personal presence.

My talk delivers a dynamic, confidence-building public-speaking workshop that equips students with real communication skills; idea development, pitching, presenting and constructive feedback through practical, high-energy activities. I finish with an inspiring personal journey that shows them what’s possible, leaving students motivated, empowered, and ready to use their voice.
Whether it’s a whole-school assembly or a smaller classroom session, I create a warm, engaging environment where children and young people can explore big ideas safely. I work with KS1–KS4, adapting each session to meet the needs and maturity of the group. These sessions can also be tailored for further education students.
Creative Writing Workshops
I also run interactive creative writing workshops that help pupils develop their voices and discover the joy of storytelling. These sessions encourage imagination, build confidence and give students practical tools they can use long after I’ve left the classroom. I always aim to make each workshop inspiring, inclusive, and empowering.
